OXLan -3- Udder Mayhem is go for launch.
It's that time again... Come and meet your e-friends in person where everyone can be the LPB in a game. It's all about having fun and getting to know people in person that you have known electronically for a while. Last year's event was very fun (ask anyone that went). It was a great mix of old school OXen and the TMO WoW guild. We had a lot of requests to put this on again, so here you have it.
Dates: August 21 - August 24, 2008 (Thur - Sun)
We have the Lan room from Thursday until Sunday at 1:00 PM. The Lan room should be setup by 5:00 PM on Thursday (i.e. that is when we can start the party)

Lan Event: $65 prepaid by Aug 1, 2008
Rooms: There is a Net Direct rate for rooms of $109.65 for Thursday night and $123.28 for the weekend nights (paid in advance, non refundable) otherwise the Best Available rate is $134.00.
Who can Attend: Anyone into computer gaming. There will be a lot of OXen at this event of course. (50 max attendees)
How do I sign up: Go to the
Sign Up form and register now! You can pay for the event via PayPal after you have registered (payments must be received by Aug 1, 2008 and are non-refundable). Pay early to guarantee your seat!

What is an OXLan:
It's an annual LanParty that The Mighty Oxen sponsors.
What do I need to bring:
Computer
Monitor
Power Cords (for both of the above)
Power Strip / Surge Protector
Keyboard
Mouse
Joystick (if applicable)
Ethernet Cable (25 ft.)
Headphones
We will provide the LAN infrastructure (cables, switches, power distribution and servers).
You will also need to bring any snacks and drinks that you will need to keep you going (yes, you must provide your own food).
Can I bring speakers:
Yes, but you will have to keep the volume down. It is recommended to only bring headphones as not to disturb your fellow players. We will also be playing music over the PA system.
Can I share a room:
Yes, the rooms have 2 double beds so you can easily split it with another person. You can fit a couple more if there is anyone willing to take the floor. More than four in a room will become very tight (not to mention it's something we can't endorse).
Will there be Internet access:
Yes, there will be wired and wireless (if requested) access in the Lan room. WoW players can still get their fix in as needed (we actually did a WoW group event last year), but remember this is a Lan event.
What games will we play:
Tribes 2 (T2)

Will we have Tournaments:
We plan to put a few together. There will be a Tribes 2 tournament for sure. Other tournaments are dependant on what games are voted to play (we may even have a Wii tournament of some kind too). Keep your eye here for updates.
Will we have a Raffle:
Maybe... This depends on how many people attend the event.
Hours of the event:
Thursday - Opening to 4:00 AM (Opening will be around 5:00 PM)
Friday - 10:00 AM to 4:00 AM
Saturday - 10:00 AM to 4:00 AM
Sunday - 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Dinner Event:
A group of OXen and Friends will go out to dinner on Saturday night to one of the local restaurants (TBD) to do the annual breaking of bread and drinking of beer (for those of age). All are welcome to join us of course (we will need a head count of those wishing to go, early Saturday, so we can make the appropriate reservations).
Will alcohol be allowed in the Lan room:
No, our venue sells alcohol and due to licensing we cannot bring our own.
Is my seat guaranteed once registered:
Your seat is only guaranteed once you have paid for the Lan event. Registration will be closed (and payment options removed) once we reach our maximum of 50 paid attendees.
Is there a minimum age to attend:
Yes, you must be 15 or older (if under 18 see below).
If you are under 18 (but 15 or older) and want to attend OXLan be sure to PM x_Maerlyn_x on the TMO Forums.
We have some liability stuff we need to take care of first and a personal phone call between your parent(s)/guardian and us. Be sure to prepare said parent(s)/guardian with the complete facts for anyone that is underage:A Liability Waiver will be signed by a parent/guardian.
You must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (or designated representative) to the Lan. They do not need to stay in the Lan room with you. They will need to book the room at the Hotel and stay with you there. This means that minors will NOT share rooms with anyone besides their parent/guardian (or designated representative).
A designated representative for a parent/guardian can be another family member or family friend that is over 18. An area for this will be provided on the Liability Waiver.
Anyone that becomes belligerent or disruptive in the Lan room (regardless of age or reason) will be ejected from the Lan and will not be allowed to return.
